The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to declare the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 results for BE/BTech (Paper 1) today, April 20, as per its earlier notification, setting off anxious anticipation among over 11 lakh candidates across the country.

Once released, candidates will be able to download their scorecards, check their All India Rank (AIR), and access the final answer key on the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The results pertain to the second session of the engineering entrance exam conducted between April 2 and April 8.

This year saw a massive turnout, with approximately 11.23 lakh candidates appearing for Session 2. Of these, nearly 11.06 lakh had registered specifically for Paper 1 (BE/BTech), with an attendance rate of around 93 per cent, underlining the scale and competitiveness of the examination.

To ease server load and avoid technical glitches, the NTA is likely to activate two to three separate download links for the scorecards.

This move is aimed at ensuring smoother access for candidates logging in simultaneously to check their results.

Apart from the official website, candidates will also receive their scorecards via their registered email IDs.

The scorecards will reflect the candidates’ details exactly as mentioned in their Class 10 certificates or mark sheets, making accuracy of personal information crucial.

How to check JEE Main Session 2 results?

Candidates can access their results by visiting jeemain.nta.nic.in and logging in using their application number and password. Once logged in, they can download and print their scorecards for future reference.

The release of results is a crucial milestone for aspirants, as those who meet the qualifying cut-off will become eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026, scheduled to be held on May 17. JEE

Advanced serves as the gateway to prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other top engineering institutions.

The cut-off percentile, which will be announced along with the results, determines eligibility for JEE Advanced as well as participation in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process.

How are NTA scores calculated?

The NTA calculates scores using a normalisation process to ensure fairness across multiple exam shifts.

  • Initially, raw marks are computed based on the official marking scheme: 4 marks are awarded for each correct answer, while one mark is deducted for every incorrect response.
  • These raw scores are then converted into NTA scores, which are percentile-based and reflect a candidate’s relative performance compared to others who appeared in the exam across different sessions.
  • With the final answer key also expected to be released alongside the results, candidates will be able to verify their responses and understand their score calculations more transparently.

As the clock ticks closer to the official announcement, lakhs of aspirants remain glued to the website, awaiting one of the most defining academic outcomes of the year.
