WBCAP 2025 UG registration begins today for admissions to 460 West Bengal colleges

The West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal (WBCAP) for undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2025–26 officially launches today, June 18, 2025, at 2 PM.
Aspirants can register at wbcap.in and submit their applications until 1 July 2025.
This new digital initiative simplifies the UG admission process across 460 government and government-aided general degree colleges under 17 universities in West Bengal. The portal allows students to apply for up to 25 courses across multiple institutions, and no application fee is required.
Key dates for Phase 1:
- Registration window: 18 June – 1 July 2025
- Merit list & seat allotment: 6 July 2025
- Admission period: 6–12 July 2025
- Upgrade allotments: 17 July 2025
- Upgrade admissions: 17–20 July 2025
- Physical verification: 24–31 July 2025
- Academic session begins: 1 August 2025
For those who miss Phase 1 or remain unplaced, a mop-up round will be conducted from 2–11 August 2025, with allotment results on 14 August and admissions closing by 17 August. Physical verification for this round will be held from 28 August to 1 September.
There will be no fees for scanning or uploading documents at designated Bangla Sahayata Kendras. Applicants will receive real-time updates via SMS and email throughout the process.
The Higher Education Minister of West Bengal, Bratya Basu, launched WBCAP to ensure equitable, transparent, and hassle-free admissions across the state. However, the portal does not cover admissions to institutions such as Presidency University, Jadavpur University, law colleges, and self-financing/private colleges, among others.
Admissions through WBCAP will be strictly merit-based, with no requirement for physical counselling or document verification during the initial application phase.
