Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India functioning with major objectives (i) to Develop Human Resources within the country by imparting appropriate knowledge and skills to promote the rapid growth of footwear and allied industry in the country (ii) to provide and develop appropriate infrastructure for the Indian footwear industry to enable it attain international standards of production and (iii) to particularly promote the growth of export production of quality footwear and allied products from the country; has invited applications for admission to its UG and PG Programmes for 2026-27.

FDDI campuses are located at Noida, Kolkata, Rohtak, Fursatganj, Jodhpur, Chennai, Chhindwara, Chandigarh, Guna, Ankleshwar, Hyderabad and Patna.

Programmes and Specialisations: Bachelor of Design (B. Des.) of 4 years’ duration is offered in (i) Footwear (Footwear Design and Production; Sport & Lifestyle Footwear Design, High Fashion Footwear) (ii) Fashion (Fashion Communication; Textile & Apparel Design; Fashion Design) (iii) Leather (Digital Product & Virtual Prototyping; Leather Lifestyle & Product Design).

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA Honours): 3+1 years (4th year Hons) (8 Semesters) in Retail & Fashion Merchandise; Supply Chain Management; Data Science Analytics; Global and Luxury Brand Management.

Eligibility (B.Des./BBA): Applicant should have passed 10+2/ equivalent in any stream.

The age limit for the Bachelor’s programme shall be 25 years as on the 1st July 2026. PwD students get a relaxation of 5 years.

Master’s Degree Programmes: M.Des. Footwear (Footwear Design & Production); M.Des. Fashion (Fashion Communication; Textile & Apparel Design; Fashion Design); MBA (Retail & Fashion Merchandise; Supply Chain Management; Data Science & Business Analytics; Global and Luxury Brand Management; Human Resource Management)

For all Programmes (M.Des. and MBA), applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognised by law in India. For the Master of Design (M. Des.) in Footwear Design & Production, the bridge programme comprising two to three relevant subjects may be offered to students who don’t have any design background to provide necessary design inputs in order to understand the design concepts. There is no age limit for admission to M.Des./MBA.

Selection: For UG and PG Programmes, eligible applicants would have to go through the All India Selection Test (AIST), a paper-based test, to be held on 10th May 2026. The written entrance examination is designed to test the knowledge, skill and aptitude of the candidates for the programme opted. The medium of the test will be in English /Hindi only. Details of the Selection Tests for UG and PG are given in the Prospectus.

All eligible candidates with any valid National level entrance examination score card (UG: CUET, UCEED, etc., PG: CUET-PG, MAT, CAT, CEED, etc.) are also allowed to participate in the admission process for UG & PG programmes for the academic session 2026-27. Details are given in the Prospectus.

Application: Application can be submitted online at https://www.fddiindia.com/ by April 20, 2026. Application Fee is Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for SC/ ST/ PWD Category) to be paid online.

Application can be submitted online with an additional late fee of Rs. 800/- (Rs. 400/- for SC/ST/ PWD Category candidates) till April 30, 2026.

Those who have appeared for the qualifying examination and whose results have not been declared at the time of admission shall be eligible to apply for admission to the Bachelor’s/Master's Programmes. Such a candidate, if selected, shall be granted provisional admission and shall be required to submit the result of the requisite examination on or before September 30, 2026.
