All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur, an Institution of National Importance under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has invited applications for admission to the Entrance Examination leading to admission to PhD Programme for July 2024 session.

One seat each is available in the Departments of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Community medicine, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Microbiology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Anesthesiology, Psychiatry and Radiodiagnosis.

Eligibility: Applicant should possess at least one of the following qualifications: 

(i) Medical Qualification: MBBS with minimum 55% aggregate marks and/or MD/MS/MPH/DM/MCH or Diplomate of National Board of Examination in the subject concerned. Those who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges other than INI, which are not recognized by the Medical Council of India are not eligible to apply. 

(ii0 Non-Medical Qualification: Master’s Degree (two year’s course) awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent in the subject. Those holding M.Sc (other than M.Sc Nursing) M.Tech., BAMS or BHMS will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification category. Those having eligibility under non-medical category should have at least 55% marks in the last eligibility examination qualified. Those with Master’s Degree through Distance Learning Course shall not be eligible.

Applicant should have preferably qualified in any one of the following National Entrance Tests in the last 2 years: Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF; ICMR-JRF; DBT-SRF; NBHM screening test; Graduate aptitude test (GATE); INSPIRE fellowship. Those who have qualified in these examinations leading to award of Fellowships, will be given special weightage in the entrance examination. Those working under Central Govt./Semi Govt./Autonomous organization should submit their applications through their employer with a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer.

Application fee is Rs. 1500/- to be remitted as Demand Draft in the name of ‘Director AIIMS Nagpur’, payable at Nagpur.

Filled application has to be submitted by e-mail and as hard copy.

Scanned copy of application has to reach academics@aiimsnagpur.edu.in as e-mail by 1700 hrs on 21.06.2024. Hard copy of the application with Self-attested documents should reach ‘Academic Section, Administrative Block, Plot No. 2, Sector-20, MIHAN, AIIMS, Nagpur, Maharashtra- 441108, by 1700 hrs on 25.06.2024. 

Selection will be based on Entrance Examination to be held from 1000 to 1130 hrs on 24.07.2024 at AIIMS Nagpur. Details are given in the Prospectus.
