National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) has invited applications for admission to Ph.D. Programme in Law, Humanities and Social Sciences and Management for 2024-25.
Ph.D. Programmes offered with eligibility for admission are as follows: (i) Law: LL.M. or an equivalent law degree (ii) Humanities & Social Sciences (Economics, Political Science, Sociology, History and English): Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in relevant Social Sciences or Humanities subject (iii) Management: Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Management
For all Programs, applicants should have 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC non creamy layer/ Differently-Abled/ Economically Weaker Section) in the qualifying Degree Examination.
NLUJ Entrance Test: As part of the selection process that comprises of two stages, there will be a National Level Entrance Test, the NLUJ Entrance Test (except for those exempted from the test) in the first stage, followed by evaluation of research proposals and interview/viva-voce in second stage. The weightage for Entrance Test will be 70% and that for Research and interview/viva-voce, 30%.
The entrance test to be conducted at National Law University Jodhpur from 11 am to 1 pm on 28th July, 2024 (Sunday) in offline mode, shall contain 50% of the questions from Research Methodology and 50% shall be from the subject concerned (Law, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management). Candidates shall secure a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test (45% for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/ Differently-Abled, EWS and other categories) to qualify for the second stage. The candidate should also secure a minimum of 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC (NCL), Differently-Abled, EWS categories) in the evaluation of research proposals and interview/viva-voce to qualify for the final selection.
Those with fellowship/ scholarship in UGC-JRF, those with valid NET score in category 2 and 3 and foreign nationals are exempted from appearing in the NLUJ Entrance Test.
UGC-JRF and foreign Nationals shall be admitted through evaluation of research proposal followed by interview/ viva-voce. The weightage for Research Proposal will be 50% and that for Interview/viva-voce, 50%. For those who have qualified in category 2 and 3, 70% weightage will be given for NET scores and 30% weightage for the interview/ viva-voce. Candidates should also score a minimum of 50 marks in the evaluation of research proposals and interview/viva-voce to qualify for the final selection.

Application Fee of Rs. 2,500/- (Rs. 1,500/- for SC/ST/OBC (NCL), Differently-Abled, EWS categories and Rs. 5000/- For Foreign Nationals) is to be paid online.
The dates for synopsis submission & guidelines, coursework schedule shall be announced after the completion of Entrance Test & result declaration.
Seat distribution: There are 18 seats in all distributed among Law/Humanities & Social Sciences /Management as follows: (i) Law: 6 seats for UGC- JRF, NET and NLUJ Entrance Test and 2 Seats for Foreign Nationals (ii) Humanities & Social Sciences (Economics, Political Science, Sociology, History and English): 6 seats for UGC-JRF, NET and NLUJ Entrance Test (iii) Management:4 seats for UGC- JRF, NET and NLUJ Entrance Test
