Expect top-tier specs like a 200MP camera, powerful new processors, and faster charging. The base and Plus models might see a design return to a camera plateau.

Samsung is poised to overhaul its flagship smartphone strategy with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, according to widespread leaks that have solidified as of Sunday, Feb. 1.
The South Korean tech giant is expected to host its first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year on February 25, 2026, likely in San Francisco. The leaks, bolstered by an apparent promotional poster shared by industry insider Evan Blass, suggest the lineup will feature the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra, alongside the debut of the Galaxy Buds 4 series.
The "Ultra" Standard: Privacy and Power
The centrepiece of the 2026 lineup, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, is rumoured to introduce a "Privacy Display" feature. This hardware-level technology reportedly uses light-directing filters to obscure on-screen content from anyone viewing the device at an angle, effectively neutralising "shoulder surfing."
Leaked Technical Specifications:
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (Global) / Exynos 2600 (Select regions).
- Display: 6.9-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED, 120Hz, featuring a record-high 3,000 nits peak brightness.
- Camera System: A quad-camera array headlined by a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and a dual-telephoto system (10MP 3x and 50MP 5x periscope).
- Power: 5,000mAh to 5,400mAh battery with a significant upgrade to 60W wired fast charging and Qi2 magnetic wireless charging support.
Design and "Plateau" Shift
While the S26 Ultra is expected to adopt curvier corners and a slimmer 7.9mm profile, the base and Plus models are tipped for a more dramatic aesthetic change. Renders suggest Samsung is returning to a "camera plateau" design—a raised vertical island housing the lenses—moving away from the individual camera rings seen in previous generations.
The standard Galaxy S26 is expected to slim down to a 6.9mm chassis while receiving a battery bump to 4,300mAh. In a move aimed at power users, Samsung is reportedly doubling the base RAM to 12GB and making 256GB the new standard entry-level storage.
Market Outlook and Pricing
Pricing leaks present a complex picture for the global market. In India and the United States, costs are expected to stay relatively stable or see minor increases due to the higher base storage.
| Model | Estimated Price (USA) | Estimated Price (India) |
| Galaxy S26 (256GB) | ~$799 | ₹89,999 |
| Galaxy S26 Plus (256GB) | ~$999 | ₹1,09,999 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra (256GB) | ~$1,299 | ₹1,39,999 |
However, European markets may see sharper hikes, with reports out of Sweden suggesting the standard model could be up to €200 more expensive than its predecessor. Conversely, some analysts suggest the high-end Ultra could launch at a slightly lower price point in select regions to combat aggressive competition from Apple’s iPhone 17 series.
Pre-orders are expected to commence on March 5, with an official on-sale date projected for March 11, 2026.
