OnePlus is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated Nord 5 series, while Samsung will launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 foldables, alongside the new Galaxy Watch 8 series

Mumbai: July is proving to be an action-packed month for smartphone enthusiasts, with brands like Nothing, Oppo, and Tecno already rolling out new products in just the first week. But the spotlight now shifts to the upcoming big-ticket launches from tech giants OnePlus and Samsung, alongside a new AI-focused entrant aiming to disrupt the budget segment.
OnePlus is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated Nord 5 series at an event on Tuesday, July 8. The launch will also introduce the Nord CE 5, a new OnePlus Pad model, and the OnePlus Buds 4. The Nord 5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, complemented by advanced vapor cooling technology and support for high-frame-rate gaming at 144 FPS on popular titles like BGMI and Call of Duty Mobile.
Teasers suggest the Nord 5 and CE 5 will feature a dual rear camera system, while the Nord CE 5 is confirmed to pack an impressive 7,100mAh battery. OnePlus is expected to retain the 80W fast charging seen in the previous Nord 4 series, with prices likely to stay competitive under Rs 30,000.
Meanwhile, Samsung is ready to take center stage with its much-awaited Galaxy Unpacked event, where it will launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 foldables, alongside the new Galaxy Watch 8 series. Adding to the buzz, reports suggest Samsung might introduce an affordable FE Flip model, possibly powered by the same Exynos chipset found in the flagship Galaxy S24 series. This move could make foldables more accessible and drive broader consumer interest in the category.
Adding a fresh twist to the busy launch calendar, a new AI+ brand is set to debut its first smartphones, the Pulse and Nova 5G, in India on July 8 at 12.30 pm. These budget-friendly devices, expected to start under Rs 5,000, will run on nxtQ’s NxtQuantum OS, promising a focused hardware and camera experience. The company also claims enhanced data security by storing user data on MeitY-certified servers hosted on Google Cloud in India.
With flagship innovations, competitive mid-range upgrades, and new budget contenders, July’s smartphone launches are set to reshape the market and keep tech fans eagerly tuned in.
