Google is set to unveil its Pixel 11 series at the Made by Google event in New York on Wednesday, with the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL expected to be among the key launches. While both phones are tipped to share Google's next-generation Tensor G6 chipset, differences in display size, battery, charging and cameras could make them suited to different types of users.

The event is also expected to offer a clearer look at Android 17, which is expected to debut with the Pixel 11 phones before rolling out to other compatible Pixel devices.

Google has already released teasers offering glimpses of the Pixel 11 series' design and some of its upcoming features. The launch event is expected to reveal the official specifications, camera capabilities, AI features, pricing and availability.

Pixel 11 Pro vs Pixel 11 Pro XL: Expected specifications

The Pixel 11 Pro is expected to feature a 6.31-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1280 x 2856 resolution. It could come with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The phone is also tipped to feature a triple 50MP rear-camera setup and a 42MP front camera. A 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 25W wireless charging is expected.

The Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to offer a substantially larger 7.02-inch LTPO AMOLED display, also with a 144Hz refresh rate, along with HDR and Ultra HDR support.

The larger model could be powered by the Tensor G6 chipset built on a 2nm process and may come with 12GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of storage.

Its camera setup is tipped to include a 50MP main camera, 48MP ultra-wide camera and 12MP telephoto camera, along with a 20MP front-facing camera.

Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro XL: Which one should you choose?

The Pixel 11 Pro could be the better fit for users who want a more compact flagship without compromising on high-end features. Its 6.31-inch display should make it easier to handle, while the triple 50MP camera setup, 42MP selfie camera and wireless charging add to its flagship credentials.

The Pixel 11 Pro XL, meanwhile, appears aimed at users who prioritise screen size, battery life and charging speed. Its 7.02-inch display could be better suited to streaming, gaming and multitasking, while the larger 6,200mAh battery should offer more capacity for extended use.

The XL model is also tipped to support 90W fast charging, considerably faster than the expected 45W charging on the Pro. Its dedicated telephoto camera could give it an advantage for photographing distant subjects.
