Late on Monday, Apple began releasing the iOS 18.4 update, which brings the much-anticipated Apple Intelligence features to users in India. Previously, Apple Intelligence was available to users in regions like the US, UK, Europe, and Canada.

Now, with the latest update, users in India and other locations can access these advanced AI features, which have also been localised for regional languages, including localised English for India and Singapore, as well as French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.

Apple Intelligence, however, is available only on select iPhone models. These include the iPhone 16 series (iPhone 16e, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max) and iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. If your device is compatible, you can check for the update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

The update is being rolled out gradually, so if it's not available immediately, it should reach your device in the coming days.

Key Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.4

1. Enhanced writing tools: Several apps, including Mail, Messages, Notes, and Pages, now feature AI-driven writing tools. Users can refine, summarise, and even rewrite text in various tones like professional or concise. The AI will also proofread text, offering suggestions to correct grammar mistakes.

2. Siri Upgrades: Siri has received enhancements with Apple Intelligence. The voice assistant is now smarter and more capable of understanding prompts with greater accuracy. Furthermore, it integrates with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, enabling users to perform complex tasks and commands with ease.

3. Visual Intelligence: This feature allows users to conduct smarter searches by simply pointing their camera at an object or place. Apple Intelligence provides detailed information about what the camera is focused on, making it one of the standout features of the update.

4. Genmoji: Genmoji allows users to create custom emojis based on text prompts. This feature adds a fun, personalised touch to conversations by enabling users to experiment with different emoji prompts, create new stickers, and more.

Other notable Apple Intelligence features include Image Playground, clean-up tools, priority mail, and a notifications summary. These additions aim to improve the overall user experience, making iPhones more seamless and user-friendly.
