New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad have suffered another injury setback, with England left-arm seamer David Payne ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League season due to an ankle injury.
The 35-year-old featured in the first two matches for SRH, claiming two wickets, including an economical spell against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Confirming the development, SRH said in a post on X that Payne would miss the rest of the TATA IPL 2026 season, while wishing him a speedy recovery.
The 2016 champions, currently placed fourth on the points table with two wins and three losses, have been plagued by injuries this campaign. Earlier, England pacer Brydon Carse was ruled out with a hand injury sustained at the start of the season, prompting the franchise to bring in Sri Lanka fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka as his replacement.
