Kartik Aaryan has given fans an update on his health after sustaining a knee injury on the sets of his upcoming sports drama with filmmaker Kabir Khan. The actor, who is currently recovering at home after undergoing surgery, shared his first social media post following the accident on Sunday, August 23.

Taking to Instagram, Kartik posted a series of photographs and videos documenting his injury and recovery. One picture showed his leg fitted with a knee brace, while another featured the words, “Foot out of service.” He also shared a black-and-white image from what appears to be a Mumbai hospital, showing him sitting on a hospital bed with IV cannulas in his left hand.

The actor's post also included older pictures and videos from his preparation for the film, including moments of him running and undergoing intense physical training.

Kartik added his trademark humour to the update with a playful caption referencing the circumstances that led to his injury. He wrote, “Kabir sir said – Break a leg,” turning the phrase traditionally used to wish someone good luck into a joke about his actual injury.

What happened to Kartik Aaryan?

Kartik was injured on August 18 while filming a physically demanding action sequence for Kabir Khan's upcoming sports drama. The accident happened during the final stretch of the shoot.

Following the injury, the actor was admitted to Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mahim, Mumbai, where he underwent surgery on his knee. He was subsequently discharged and is now continuing his recovery at home.

A spokesperson for Kartik previously confirmed that the procedure was successful and said the actor was concentrating on his recovery. “His surgery was completed successfully, and he is now back home, resting and recovering. He will be back on set soon.”

Will the injury affect Kartik's upcoming film?

There had been questions over whether Kartik's injury would force changes to the production schedule. However, director Kabir Khan has reportedly indicated that the film's work is moving ahead as planned.

The project reunites Kartik and Khan following their collaboration on ‘Chandu Champion’. It is also particularly significant for Kartik as he is making his debut as a producer with the sports drama under his own banner.
