PV Sindhu withdraws from all remaining 2025 BWF WorldTour events to focus on full recovery from a foot injury, eyeing a return in early 2026.

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu has officially announced her withdrawal from all remaining BWF (Badminton World Federation) Tour 2025 tournaments. The decision follows detailed discussions with her core team and Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, a leading sports medicine specialist, after evaluating her ongoing recovery and rehabilitation process.
In a heartfelt post on social media, Sindhu wrote, “After consulting closely with my team and with the guidance of the incredible Dr. Pardiwala, we felt it was best for me to withdraw from all remaining BWF Tour events in 2025. The foot injury I sustained before the European leg has not fully recovered, and while it is never easy to accept, injuries are an inseparable part of every athlete’s journey. They test your resilience and patience, but they also spark the fire to come back stronger….”
Sindhu sustained a foot injury before the European leg of the season. Although her condition has improved, her medical and performance teams have advised continued rest and structured rehabilitation to ensure full recovery and safeguard her long-term fitness.
Following this advice, the shuttler has chosen to prioritise recovery over short-term competition. She has already begun a customised training and rehab plan, focusing on conditioning, healing and a gradual return to on-court practice with the aim of regaining top form.
In an official statement, Sindhu shared that she aims to return to competition around January 2026, dedicating the coming months to full recovery and preparation for the next chapter of her career.
Her team reiterated that this pause will strengthen her both mentally and physically, keeping her on course for future goals, including the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
