Tel Aviv: The conflict between Israel and Iran has now entered its eighth consecutive day, with both sides continuing to exchange fire in a dangerous escalation that shows no signs of slowing down.

On Friday, the Iranian military confirmed through a statement on Telegram that it had launched a "new round of combined missile and drone attacks" targeting military sites in Haifa and Tel Aviv. These latest strikes mark a significant intensification of Tehran’s military operations against Israel.

In response, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz issued a strong warning, calling for direct action against Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Katz referenced Thursday's attack on Soroka Hospital in southern Israel, which Israeli authorities say was carried out by Iranian forces.

As the situation worsens, international concern is growing. Russia has warned Israel not to target Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant.

Speaking at a press briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said such a move would result in “a catastrophe comparable to Chernobyl.”

She also highlighted the presence of Russian personnel working at the plant, adding to the urgency of the warning.

Meanwhile, the United States is closely monitoring the escalating conflict. The White House stated that President Donald Trump is expected to make a decision in the next two weeks regarding whether the US will become directly involved in the Israel-Iran conflict.
