New Delhi: NASA has postponed the planned launch of the Axiom-4 mission, which was scheduled for Sunday, 22 June. The mission includes Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla among a crew of four heading to the International Space Station (ISS).

In a statement, Axiom Space confirmed the delay, saying: “NASA has made the decision to stand down from a launch on Sunday, June 22, and will target a new launch date in the coming days.”

The delay comes as NASA continues to assess ISS operations following recent repair work on the aft section of the station’s Russian-built Zvezda service module.

Given the complexity and interconnected nature of the space station's systems, NASA is taking extra precautions to ensure the ISS is fully prepared to accommodate additional crew members.
