Iran claimed the complex was targeted because it houses the Israeli Embassy, part of a response to earlier U.S.-Israeli action.

Tehran: Iran’s state-sponsored Fars News Agency reported Friday that overnight strikes in the Bahraini capital targeted the Financial Harbour Towers, a prominent commercial landmark.
The news agency alleged the complex was singled out because it houses the Israeli Embassy. This report follows six days of retaliatory aerial assaults across the Persian Gulf by Tehran, following the Feb. 28 joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran.
Reuters reported that an Iranian drone was intercepted and neutralised by air defences in the immediate vicinity of the towers. While the Iranian media account highlighted the diplomatic mission as the intended target, Bahrain's Interior Ministry stated that recent strikes in the capital hit two hotels and a residential building, resulting in property damage but no fatalities.

The escalation in Bahrain has seen several high-profile targets struck since the conflict began, including the headquarters of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet on the first day of hostilities. On Thursday, an Iranian missile also ignited a fire at the state-owned Bapco Energies refinery on the island of Sitra, which was later extinguished without reported injuries.
As the security situation deteriorates, Great Britain announced the temporary withdrawal of some embassy personnel and their families from the island nation. Bahraini authorities have urged the public to remain indoors and avoid documenting military operations as defence systems continue to engage successive waves of incoming drones and missiles.
