IndiGo will begin direct flights between Mumbai and Copenhagen on October 8, its first service to Scandinavia, using wet-leased Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

IndiGo is set to launch direct flights between Mumbai and Copenhagen starting October 8, 2025, marking its first entry into Scandinavia. The airline will operate three weekly services on this route using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, wet-leased from Norse Atlantic Airways. In a wet lease arrangement, IndiGo will receive the aircraft along with crew and sometimes fuel, allowing it to expand capacity quickly without deploying its own aircraft.
The Mumbai-bound flight will depart Copenhagen at 12:30 pm local time, arriving in Mumbai just after midnight, while the Mumbai-to-Copenhagen flight will leave at 4:35 am IST and reach Copenhagen at 10:05 pm.
Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, said the new service will offer Indian travellers’ convenient access to Denmark and serve as a gateway to other Nordic countries. “With every new international destination, Copenhagen being our 44th we are inching closer to our vision of being a trusted global airline,” he said.
IndiGo currently serves 138 destinations worldwide. Passengers on the new Mumbai-Copenhagen flights can choose between standard economy seats and IndiGoStretch seats, both of which include complimentary meals and beverages. Tickets are now available on IndiGo’s website and through online travel platforms.
The airline’s move comes as part of its broader strategy to expand its international footprint in Europe and cater to rising demand from business and leisure travellers between India and the Nordics.
