IndiGo Ventures has invested in Sarvam AI's Series B round to expand artificial intelligence across airline operations, passenger services and workforce workflows.

IndiGo Ventures has invested in Indian artificial intelligence company Sarvam AI as part of its Series B funding round, with the partnership aimed at expanding AI use across airline operations and improving passenger services.
IndiGo Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of IndiGo, has invested in Sarvam AI through the company's Series B funding round.
The investment builds on an existing relationship between the airline and the AI company, which have previously worked together on artificial intelligence applications for passenger services, employee support and operational workflows.
Focus on airline operations
IndiGo operates across a large network involving high passenger volumes, time-sensitive processes and a geographically distributed workforce.
The latest investment is intended to create a stronger technology base for expanding AI adoption across the airline. IndiGo plans to combine its operational scale with Sarvam's AI technology, including voice-based and agentic AI systems.
The aim is to improve operational efficiency while supporting customer-facing services.
Sarvam's AI technology
Sarvam develops enterprise AI products as well as infrastructure for training and inference. Its technology portfolio includes systems for voice, text, computer vision and document processing.
The company focuses on deploying AI for large-scale enterprise applications.
What IndiGo says
IndiGo Chief Digital and Information Officer Neetan Chopra said artificial intelligence is becoming an important capability for the aviation industry and is changing customer experience, workforce productivity and operational decision-making.
He said the partnership gives IndiGo access to AI capabilities developed in India and adapted to the needs of the market.
Sarvam sees aviation as a major AI use case
Sarvam co-founder Pratyush Kumar said aviation provides a strong environment for enterprise AI because it combines millions of customer interactions with complex and time-sensitive operations.
He said IndiGo's scale and industry expertise could help identify practical applications where AI can deliver value in live operations.
What the partnership means
The companies plan to connect Sarvam's AI models and agentic infrastructure more directly with IndiGo's operational systems.
The partnership could allow AI tools to be deployed across areas such as customer interactions, employee assistance and workflow automation, while the airline assesses their usefulness at scale.
The investment reflects the growing focus among large Indian businesses on moving AI from experimentation into production-scale enterprise applications.
For IndiGo, aviation offers several potential areas for automation because airline operations involve large volumes of repetitive interactions alongside processes that require rapid decision-making. Sarvam's focus on voice and agentic systems could be particularly relevant to customer and employee-facing workflows.
The partnership also places an Indian AI technology provider inside one of the country's largest airline networks, potentially providing a large-scale environment for testing and deploying enterprise AI.
