US President Donald Trump has said he will miss his son Donald Trump Jr’s wedding due to ongoing international tensions and urgent government responsibilities linked to developments involving Iran and other global issues.

Washington DC: Donald Trump announced that he will not attend the wedding of his son Donald Trump Jr. and Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, citing government responsibilities and growing geopolitical tensions.
In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said he believed it was important to remain in Washington during what he described as a critical period for the United States.

“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump wrote.
Iran tensions behind Trump’s decision
Speaking to reporters at the White House earlier, Trump said the wedding timing was “not good timing” because of “a thing called Iran and other things.”
The decision comes amid rising tensions involving Iran and speculation about possible new US military action in West Asia. Reports suggested Trump had recently considered military strikes on Iran but delayed any immediate action after regional allies encouraged further negotiations.
Trump later indicated that possible US action could still happen “maybe Friday or Saturday” or “early next week,” further intensifying attention on Washington’s foreign policy decisions.
White House schedule changed
Trump is now expected to return to the White House on Friday evening after delivering a speech in New York. Earlier plans reportedly included spending the weekend at his New Jersey golf club before returning to Washington later.
The wedding ceremony itself is expected to be a small private event in the Bahamas attended by close family members and friends.
Growing focus on US foreign policy
Apart from Iran, reports in US media have also pointed to discussions within Washington regarding possible tougher actions involving Cuba, adding to speculation about escalating international tensions.
Trump’s decision to skip a major family event has drawn attention because of his close public relationship with his children and the prominent role the Trump family often plays in political and public life.
The development comes at a time when geopolitical uncertainty in West Asia continues to dominate global headlines, with the White House facing increasing scrutiny over its next diplomatic and military steps.
