Israel launched airstrikes in western Iran, targeting missile launchers, after accusing Iran of violating a ceasefire agreement. Tensions remain high.

Moments after Iranian media announced the start of a ceasefire at 7:30 am local time, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that Israeli fighter jets struck missile launch platforms in western Iran, reigniting questions over the fragile truce.
According to the IDF, the airstrike was launched in response to Iran’s violation of the agreement, with military officials saying the platforms were “ready to be launched” toward Israeli territory.
Captain Ella, an IDF major, stated: “In the past hours, Air Force aircraft attacked a region in western Iran and destroyed missile platforms that were ready to be launched as part of the last missile salvo.”
The incident follows an already volatile 12-day conflict, with both sides accusing each other of aggression even as diplomatic channels push for de-escalation.
Though Tehran claimed to be observing the ceasefire as of Monday morning, Israel’s latest military action underscores how fragile the truce remains, with each side citing security threats as justification for continued strikes.
