Heavy thunderstorms continue across the UAE, and authorities have asked people to stay indoors, avoid flooded areas, and travel only if necessary.
Several flights by Emirates and flydubai have been cancelled or rescheduled because of the bad weather.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has advised private companies in affected areas to allow employees to work from home on December 19, and Abu Dhabi has cancelled community events.
A 27-year-old Indian expatriate, Salman Fariz, died in Ras Al Khaimah after a wall collapsed during heavy rain.
The National Centre of Meteorology has warned that rain, thunderstorms, hail, strong winds, dust, and rough sea conditions are expected to continue across the country.
In a statement, the police said: “For your safety, please remain cautious as unstable weather conditions are expected in the coming hours, and avoid going out unless it is absolutely necessary until midday on Friday."
It's the UAE's heaviest rainfall since 76 years.
