The average price of 24-carat gold fell by ₹27 to ₹14,673 per gram. Twenty-two-carat gold declined ₹25 to ₹13,450 per gram, while 18-carat gold was down ₹20 at ₹11,005 per gram.
For larger purchases, the price of 8 grams of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,17,384, down ₹216. The same quantity of 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,07,600, a decline of ₹200, while 18-carat gold fell ₹160 to ₹88,040.
Chennai remained the costliest market, with 24-carat gold priced at ₹14,946 per gram, 22-carat gold at ₹13,700 per gram and 18-carat gold at ₹11,440 per gram.
Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kerala and Pune reported identical rates. In these places, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹14,673 per gram, 22-carat gold at ₹13,450 per gram and 18-carat gold at ₹11,005 per gram.
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹14,688 per gram, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹13,465 per gram and 18-carat gold at ₹11,020 per gram.
Vadodara and Ahmedabad also reported matching prices. Twenty-four-carat gold was selling at ₹14,678 per gram, 22-carat gold at ₹13,455 per gram and 18-carat gold at ₹11,010 per gram.
MCX gold futures rose in previous session
While domestic retail gold prices eased on Saturday, gold futures ended higher in the previous trading session.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures rose by more than 1.30% on Friday, July 3, settling above ₹1.47 lakh per 10 grams at the close of trade.
