Thiruvananthapuram: MLA PV Anvar has revealed that he made public allegations against Chief Minister’s Political Secretary P Sasi and ADGP MR Ajith Kumar following instructions from the party's leadership. However, after the Chief Minister dismissed his claims, the leaders who had previously supported him stopped responding to his calls, Anvar claimed in the press conference following his resignation.

Anvar shared that the allegations he made were regarding issues within the party, particularly involving Ajith Kumar, former Malappuram SP Sujith Das, and Sasi. He explained that Sujith Das had allegedly criminalised a community during his tenure, that there was a massive smuggling operation around the airport. Anvar claimed to have informed the Chief Minister and other party leaders about these issues multiple times, but no action was taken.

After discussions within the party, Anwar said the leadership instructed him to make a public statement, explaining that his freedom to speak on these matters could help bring attention to the issues. He followed these instructions, hoping it would lead to action.

Alleged withdrawal of support

However, when the Chief Minister publicly denied the allegations and defended Sasi and Ajith Kumar, Anvar says he felt abandoned. He mentioned that the leadership who had initially supported him suddenly stopped answering his calls. Despite attempting to contact them for two days, Anvar said he received no response.

“I realised that they did not intend to communicate, and their demand was to bring this issue to public attention,” he stated. Anvar expressed his frustration at the lack of support from the party leadership after his statements.

Chief Minister’s denial, rejection

Anvar further said that after the Chief Minister rejected his allegations, he began to investigate the matter more closely. He suspected that the Chief Minister had become aligned with P Sasi and Ajith Kumar and realised the issue had deeper connections within the Chief Minister's family.

Anwar also said that despite his efforts to speak up, the CPM leadership failed to support him and withdrew their backing once the Chief Minister dismissed his claims.
