Pathanamthitta: The video of P. P. Divya alleging corruption against Kannur ADM Naveen Babu during the farewell meeting went viral the same evening, causing a stir in his hometown. The footage was circulated widely on social media, leading many of Naveen’s friends to reach out to him for clarification. However, he did not answer any calls.
The information about the video began spreading around 7:00 pm on October 14. Friends speculate that Naveen may have received the video link earlier and believe he could have been under massive mental stress due to the unusual calls he was receiving.

B. Binu, an assistant executive engineer in the Public Works Department and a friend of the ADM from Pandalam, attempted to call Naveen after noticing the video but found his phone was out of range. Naveen and Binu had worked closely together in Kannur, in neighbouring office space with a strong friendship. Binu says that there was no possibility of such an allegation against Naveen.
G. Akhil, district secretary of the Joint Council, also called Naveen around 9:30pm the same evening. Akhil called because Naveen was set to start work in Pathanamthitta the following day. He hung up the phone, saying he would see Akhil the next day. Akhil was unaware of the video at the time. After learning about the video, Akhil contacted Naveen's wife, who mentioned that she had spoken to her husband and he would arrive at Chengannur railway station in the morning.
When Akhil tried to call Naveen again at 11:00 pm, he found the phone out of coverage. Kannur Town Police reached out to Akhil to gather more information about the situation and the conversation with Naveen based on the first call.
