Malayalapuzha: MLA K. K. Rema has stated that the lawyer who represented the defendants in the murder case of T. P. Chandrasekaran is now defending Divya. Speaking to the media outside ADM K. Naveen Babu's house in Malayalapuzha, Rema mentioned that the driver reported dropping off the ADM.
The driver also said that the ADM met with a friend afterward, raising questions about whether the friend's phone calls were checked, which leads her to doubt the circumstances surrounding the suicide. Rema suggested there may be a larger conspiracy at play and questioned the motives behind Divya's comments about not receiving a no-objection certificate (NOC) for a petrol pump. Rema also alleged that CPM is attempting to portray that there is nothing wrong with her statements.

On Thursday, the Thalassery Sessions Court reviewed the anticipatory bail plea of P. P. Divya, former president of the Kannur District Panchayat, who faces charges of abetting the suicide of ADM K. Naveen Babu. After more than three hours of arguments, Judge K. T. Nisar Ahmed adjourned the case until October 29.
During the hearing, Divya's lawyer explained that she has sick parents, a daughter who goes to school, and husband at home. He refuted claims that she attended the farewell function uninvited, stating that the collector had actually invited her, and there was no formal notice for the event.
Divya's legal team said that she is committed to fighting corruption and mentioned that she travels about 250 km each day for her responsibilities and works round the clock everyday. They also noted that her speech stems from complaints made by Prasanthan and Gangadharan.
