
Alathur: The prime accused, Chenthamara, in the Nenmara double murder case will be produced before the court on Wednesday at 4 pm. Chenthamara was arrested 35 hours after the brutal killings. The police arrested him around 10:30 pm on Tuesday while he was on his way to his house in Boyan Colony. He had been absconding after killing Sudhakaran (56) and his mother Lakshmi (75), both natives of Nenmara.
As public anger grew over the brutal killings, the police decided to shift the accused from the Nenmara police station to the Alathur DYSP office.
During questioning, Chenthamara claimed that an argument with Sudhakaran the previous day led to the murder. He mentioned that a sudden provocation by Sudhakaran was what triggered the killing. According to the accused, Sudhakaran had threatened to retaliate for the death of his wife, and this confrontation escalated into violence.
The police also reported that Chenthamara requested chicken and rice while in the lockup. Further medical examination confirmed that he had not ingested poison. Authorities have decided not to present the accused in an open court. Instead, special
