Kerala issues orange and yellow flood alerts as water level rises in rivers across Kasaragod and Kannur.

Thiruvananthapuram: In view of potential flood risk, the state Irrigation Department (IDRB) issued orange and yellow alerts on Friday, August 29, across multiple districts in Kerala. River water levels have risen to alarming levels, prompting authorities to urge caution among those residing near riverbanks.
Orange alert
Kasaragod: Nileshwaram (Chaiyam River Station), Mogral (Madhur Station)
Yellow Alert
Kasaragod: Kariangode (Bheemanady Station), Shiriya (Puthuge Station)
Kannur: Perumba (Kaithapram River Station), Kuppam (Mankara River Station)
The public has been advised to stay away from rivers. Authorities have strongly advised the public not to enter or attempt to cross any river under alert. Residents living close to riverbanks must remain vigilant. People in flood-prone areas are asked to be ready to shift residence in line with directives from officials.
