Thrissur: The GST intelligence department is conducting extensive raids at gold jewellery manufacturing centres and shops in Thrissur, leading to the seizure of over 100 kilograms of unaccounted gold. Investigators have uncovered evidence of five years of tax evasion.
The operation is one of the largest raids carried out by the GST department in the state, involving around 700 officers. The raids began late Wednesday night and are ongoing, targeting jewellery factories where gold is melted and crafted, as well as the residences of business owners.
