IMD issues a yellow alert for several Kerala districts, predicting isolated heavy rainfall over the next five days.

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts in Kerala, forecasting heavy isolated rainfall across the state over the next five days.
According to the latest weather bulletin, a yellow alert has been declared for Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Tuesday (August 18).
Furthermore, the yellow alert will remain in place for the northern districts of Kannur and Kasaragod on Wednesday (August 19).
The weather agency clarified that a yellow alert indicates the likelihood of isolated heavy rainfall ranging between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within a 24-hour period. Authorities have advised residents, particularly those in hilly, coastal and low-lying areas, to exercise caution and monitor local weather updates closely.
