The India Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert for multiple districts in Kerala through October 6, predicting isolated heavy rainfall of up to 115.5 mm within 24 hours.

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a five-day weather outlook predicting isolated heavy rainfall across various districts in Kerala. Yellow Alerts have been sounded for several southern, central and northern districts over the next three days.
According to the weather bulletin, an alert measuring heavy rainfall, defined as precipitation between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within a 24-hour window, has been placed on the following schedule.
District-wise yellow alert schedule
- Sunday (October 4): Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam
- Monday (October 5): Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Malappuram
- Tuesday (October 6): Idukki, Palakkad and Wayanad
Residents in hilly and vulnerability-prone zones across the alerted districts have been advised to remain cautious regarding localised waterlogging and sudden runoff during high-intensity rain spells.
