
Thiruvananthapuram: The Class 10 textbooks will be distributed before the conclusion of Class 9 exams, announced Kerala General Education Minister V. Sivankutty on Saturday.
The texbooks will be officially launched by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the Chief Minister's Chamber in the Legislative Assembly on March 25. Meanwhile, the textbooks for other classes will be distributed from the second week of April.
Minister Sivankutty announced that the reforms to the existing curriculum, aimed at improving the quality of the public education sector, are nearing completion.
"Last year, 1.8 crore textbooks covering 205 revised titles for Classes 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 were printed and delivered to schools. This year, the printing of two crore textbooks in 238 revised titles for Classes 2, 4, 6, and 8 is underway. The Department of General Education is setting a new milestone by ensuring textbook delivery before the mid-summer vacation," Sivankutty explained.
