The Tamil Nadu government has confirmed that the Class 10 SSLC public examination results will be announced on May 20 for nearly nine lakh students

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has announced that the results of the Class 10 public examinations will be declared on May 20, ending weeks of anticipation for nearly 9 lakh students who appeared for the state board exams this year.
School Education Minister Rajmohan also confirmed that schools across the state would reopen on June 1 following the summer holidays. In addition, teacher training sessions linked to the revised curriculum will be conducted from June 1 to June 3 ahead of the new academic year.
The Class 10 public examinations were held across Tamil Nadu between March 11 and April 6.According to official figures, around 9 lakh candidates took part in the examinations, including 8,82,806 students from schools and 13,744 private candidates.
Following the completion of the examinations, answer scripts were evaluated at centres set up across the state. Officials subsequently completed the valuation process and moved to the next phase of uploading marks into the computer system.
Sources in the School Education and Examination Department said the final stages of data processing and result compilation had been under way during the past few days, with officials fully engaged in preparations for the announcement.
With all formalities now completed according to schedule, Minister Rajmohan officially confirmed that the results would be published on May 20.
Students can check marks online
Students will be able to access their results online immediately after the announcement by entering their registration number and date of birth on the official government portals.
The declaration of results is expected to bring relief to lakhs of students and parents who have been awaiting confirmation of the outcome of this year’s examinations.
Schools to reopen on June 1
Apart from the examination update, the minister also shared details regarding preparations for the forthcoming academic session.
Rajmohan reiterated that schools throughout Tamil Nadu would reopen on June 1 as previously announced after the conclusion of the summer vacation.
He further stated that special training programmes for teachers on newly introduced textbooks would be organised between June 1 and June 3 to familiarise educators with the revised curriculum.
Earlier, the minister had launched new textbooks for students from Classes 1 to 3 as part of the Tamil Nadu government’s broader efforts to strengthen primary education and implement curriculum reforms in schools across the state.
