The fake circular, which surfaced on July 7, claimed that a state secretary, a state committee member and a regional secretary had been relieved of all organisational responsibilities.
The forged circular also contained several errors, including the misspelling of State BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar's name and incorrectly referring to the party's state in-charge. It also carried what appeared to be the BJP office seal.
The party later issued an official statement dismissing the circular as fake.
According to party sources, the leadership suspects that individuals within the BJP may have been involved in creating and circulating the forged document.
State BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar is currently abroad. The alleged fake circular bearing his signature surfaced during his absence, and party sources said a detailed inquiry would be conducted after his return.
Fund misuse allegations fuel controversy
The fake circular surfaced amid allegations on social media that election funds were misused for personal purposes. Claims circulating within the party and online alleged that some leaders had cleared personal bank loans using party funds, while another had purchased a vehicle.
Earlier, Chandrasekhar had issued a statement saying the circular was fabricated and that no financial irregularities had been found in connection with the Assembly election funds.
Similarly, former Kerala BJP president P.K. Krishnadas denied allegations of corruption involving the party's election funds.
"No corruption has taken place. There has been no inquiry or disciplinary action. The state BJP president has already clarified the party's stand," he said.
