Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala BJP chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar has strongly condemned the appearance of posters targeting party leader V V Rajesh in Thiruvananthapuram. He warned the district leadership that such actions would no longer be tolerated within the party.

On Wednesday morning, posters criticising Rajesh surfaced outside the BJP state committee office and his residence. These posters, issued under the banner of the 'BJP Action Forum' (BJP Prathikarana Vedhi), alleged that Rajesh was involved in financial fraud and had attempted to undermine Chandrasekhar’s candidacy during the Lok Sabha elections in Thiruvananthapuram.

The posters accused Rajesh of illegally amassing wealth and demanded an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation, saying that if the agency was not a "rubber stamp", it should seize his assets. They also called for his expulsion from the party and a probe into his financial growth over the past 15 years.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar intervenes, orders removal

The incident sparked a controversy, prompting Rajeev Chandrasekhar to intervene. He directed the removal of the posters and called for strict action against those responsible for putting them up.

Earlier, Rajesh had lodged a complaint with the City Police Commissioner regarding the posters. Following this, Rajeev Chandrasekhar personally stepped in, assuring that action would be taken.

Notably, the posters appeared just two days after Chandrasekhar assumed charge as the state BJP chief.
