Kozhikode: Owing to the incessant rains, schools will remain closed in the districts of Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod on July 19 (Friday).
In Kasaragod, however, the holiday does not apply to colleges, and the District Collector has announced that scheduled exams will proceed as planned. Inbasekar K declared holidays for State, CBSE, ICSE schools, Anganwadis, and Madrassas in the district.
Meanwhile, professional colleges in Wayanad will also remain closed on Friday due to the heavy rains affecting the region over the past few days. However, PSC exams will be held as scheduled, and Model Residential and Navodaya schools will remain open.
In Areekode and Kondotty in Malappuram district, all educational institutions except professional colleges will remain closed on July 19.
Kozhikode District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh has directed school principals to consult with the Education Officer to decide whether to keep schools open or closed for the day.
In Idukki district, hoiliday has been declared for educational institutions including professional colleges in Devikulam taluk and Chinnakanal panchayat on Friday.
