Angamaly: The Human Rights Commission has taken action on a complaint that the entire functioning of Emergency Department of Angamaly Taluk Hospital was disrupted for filming purposes the other day.

Kerala State Human Rights Commission member V K Beena Kumari has stated that those who granted permission for the film shoot on Thursday night in the Government hospital's Emergency Department must provide an explanation within seven days. The Commission has directed the Ernakulam District Medical Officer and the Angamaly Taluk Hospital Superintendent to respond.

The incident in question involved the shooting of the movie 'Painkili,' produced by Fahadh Faasil. Filming commenced at 9 pm and the complaint alleged that lights in the Emergency Department were obstructed and various restrictions were imposed.

Approximately 50 people, including actors, were present in the room. Reports indicate that the filming continued even while doctors were administering treatment to patients. Due to the limited space in the department, it is also claimed that bystanders of patients in critical condition were unable to enter.

During the filming, access through the main gate was restricted. The film crew reportedly instructed patients and bystanders to remain silent. The filming extended over two days, during which the government hospital was depicted as a private hospital in the movie.
