The Mohanlal–Jeethu Joseph collaboration 'Drishyam 3' has become one of the most eagerly awaited releases for Malayalam cinema fans. The makers have now confirmed that shooting for the third part of the blockbuster thriller franchise has been completed. The update was announced through a behind-the-scenes video shared by the crew.

Mohanlal posted a video of the film’s final shot on social media, capturing the moment the take was approved. His expression when saying the shot was “okay” has already become a talking point among viewers. At the end of the video, Mohanlal says, “Is Georgekutty correct? When everyone said it, there is a doubt,” hinting once again at the mystery surrounding his iconic character. The actor is also seen hugging producer Antony Perumbavoor and director Jeethu Joseph, celebrating the wrap with the team.

The video further shows Mohanlal cutting a cake on set and sharing the moment with fellow cast and crew members. However, the makers have not yet announced a release date for the film. Meena, Esther Anil and Ansiba are among the actors returning to reprise their roles.

The first two films in the 'Drishyam' series were major commercial successes. The original film, released on December 19, 2013, became the first Malayalam movie to cross the ₹50-crore mark and was later remade in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. The sequel was released on February 19, 2021, directly on Amazon Prime Video as an OTT premiere and also received widespread acclaim.

With filming now complete, anticipation continues to build over how Georgekutty’s story will unfold in the final chapter of the franchise.
