Thiruvananthapuram: In a serious revelation, ‘Dallal’ Nandakumar alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had sought his help in connection with the Lavalin case in 2016.
T G Nandakumar, while taking part in the Mathrubhumi News Super Prime Time, alleged that the Chief Minister contacted him to transfer the case from the High Court bench.
“In 2016, when the Lavalin case returned to haunt Pinarayi Vijayan while he was leading the Nava Kerala Yathra, he sought my help. Let him deny it. "
"An appeal was filed at the High Court when the Lavalin case was discharged in 2013. The hearing was posted in 2016 before the elections. Justice Ubaid’s bench was to hear the case. Realising it could be dangerous as then director general of prosecution Asaf Ali has submitted only certain petitions filed by the Government, Pinarayi Vijayan zeroed in on lawyer K V Sohan. Though Advocate Sohan could not get it dismissed, the hearing was postponed to a day after the elections. Sohan was later made the Government Attorney in Pinarayi’s first stint. However, he was dismissed in Pinarayi’s second term as the lawyer was not of any use for him anymore.
“Pinarayi found me during his research on ways to reach K V Sohan. Although he had a great lawyer like M K Damodaran in his possession, he contacted me through the late Scaria Thomas. We became friends. However, we never contacted each other after he became the Chief Minister. He has already said if Lord Shiva joins a sinner, Shiva will also become a sinner. He might have contacted me as I might be a great sinner. He also said that he knew me, although he did not make it clear how,” Nandakumar said.
