Thiruvananthapuram: The Beypore Comprehensive Responsible Tourism project has been honoured with the Gold Award of the International Center for Responsible Tourism (ICRT). The award was presented to K. Rupesh Kumar, CEO of the Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission Society, by Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj during a ceremony in New Delhi.

The Beypore project, part of the State Tourism Department's efforts through the Responsible Tourism Mission Society, was recognised this year for its achievements in employing and upskilling the local community. This award marks the third consecutive year that the Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission has received such accolades.

In 2022, the mission won four gold awards, and in 2023, it secured one. With these recent achievements, the Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission has become the only government agency to receive gold awards in various categories for three years in a row.
