Kochi: Kerala ministers K Radhakrishnan, P Rajeev, and MB Rajesh on Thursday visited the house of the girl who was assaulted and killed in Aluva by her neighbour. They consoled the family members and informed them that the financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh, approved by the cabinet on Wednesday, would soon be credited to the joint account of the family.

The police are diligently collecting scientific evidence to ensure the harshest punishment for the accused, and the investigation is making significant progress, said Rajeev.

Meanwhile, at around 3:30 pm on Thursday, the police team brought the accused to Aluva market for evidence collection, where they found a slipper and a part of the child's torn clothes.

Presently, the police have identified only one suspect in the crime. They plan to travel to Delhi and Bihar to gather more information about the accused, as there are reports suggesting his involvement in a similar crime in Delhi.

The post-mortem report stated that the child's murder was a result of strangulation. The report also confirms that the child was sexually abused.
