Kochi: The investigation team on Sunday took Asafaq Alam, accused in the murder of a five-year-old Bihar girl in Aluva, for evidence collection in the market and nearby areas. He was brought to the spot around 11.15 am under tight police security.
Subsequently, Alam was taken to a building where he had stayed for two days, ahead of the murder, and later taken to a crockery store located near Aluva flyover. It is learnt that the evidence collection was carried out at those places wherein the accused had direct links.
During evidence collection, although huge protests arose from locals, the police intervened and brought things under control. The accused was brought to the market for evidence collection earlier on Thursday too. His custody period will end on August 10.
The five-year-old girl, the daughter of migrant workers from Bihar, was kidnapped from near their house at Choornikkara in Aluva in broad daylight on July 28. She was later found murdered and sexually abused with several gruesome injuries at a dumping area near the Aluva market.
