Aluva: Health Minister Veena George visited the family of the 5-year-old girl who was brutally murdered by her neighbour in Aluva. The minister reached the victim’s home around 10 PM on Saturday. Veena George consoled the bereaved family and assured of immediate financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh which is given to the parents of POCSO case victims. 

The minister was accompanied by Ernakulam district collector NSK Umesh. The girl’s father informed the minister about his difficulty in going for work after sustaining an injury on his leg. The minister instructed child welfare officials to provide food items and other essentials to the family at the earliest. Expressing her anguish, the minister said that the culprit will be given strict punishment.
