Aluva: The police will file charge sheet against Christin Raj, who has been charged for kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 8-year-old in Aluva.
The Aluva police will file the charge sheet at the Ernakulam Pocso court today. Sexual assault, kidnap charges will be slapped against the accused.
The girl hailing from Uttar Pradesh was asleep in her house when she was abducted and subjected to assault. The accused barged into the house in the wee hours and took the child to a deserted place in the paddy field to molest her. The locals, upon hearing her cries, came to the child’s rescue. The accused fled the place but was nabbed soon after.
Christin Raj, is a native of Chengal in Thiruvananthapuram, and is a notorious criminal. Police said he was named accused in a case in Perumbavoor involving a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) violation and also is the prime suspect in another case for sexually assaulting an aged woman.
After conducting a thorough investigation for the past two months, the police are now ready to submit the charge sheet. The investigation team is determined to complete the inquiry as quickly as possible. Currently, the accused is lodged in jail.
