Kannur: Passengers at Kannur International Airport staged a protest due to the sudden cancellation of Air India Express flights bound for Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Muscat.
The flights were cancelled due to the ongoing strike by Air India Express staff. As a result, passengers were stranded at the airport.
On Tuesday night, another incident unfolded when an Air India Express flight scheduled to depart from Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai was also cancelled. Passengers at the Thiruvananthapuram airport expressed their dissatisfaction by staging a protest.
Authorities confirmed that the cancellations were due to the aircrew reaching their duty time limit. Currently, passengers are being accommodated at a nearby hostel.
