RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav announces major welfare schemes for Jeevika Didis if his party comes to power in Bihar. Promises permanency, increased salary, loan waivers, and more.

Patna: As the Bihar election campaigning gains momentum, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday made a major announcement targeting the welfare of Jeevika Didis, Community Mobilisers who play a crucial role in grassroots development.
Addressing a media, Tejashwi Yadav stated, “All of you are aware that injustice was done to the Jeevika Didis under this government. We have decided that if RJD comes to power, all Jeevika Didis will be made permanent and granted the status of government employees. Their monthly salary will be increased to Rs 30,000. This is not an ordinary announcement but a fulfillment of a long-standing demand.”
He further assured that the interest on loans taken by Jeevika Didis would be waived off, and for the next two years, they would receive interest-free credit. Additionally, an allowance of Rs 2,000 per month will be provided, and every Jeevika Didi will be covered under an insurance scheme worth Rs 5 lakh.
This announcement comes at a critical juncture, with nomination filing now complete and election campaigning in full swing.
Tejashwi Yadav highlighted the growing dissatisfaction among Bihar’s populace towards the current “double-engine” government, accusing it of rising corruption, crime, unemployment, and increased migration.
“The people of Bihar are fed up with the current government. They have witnessed a surge in corruption and crime, and the youth face mounting unemployment,” he said. “The current government copied the announcements we made earlier to the people.”
Meanwhile, polling in the Bihar 2025 elections is scheduled to take place on November 6 and 11, respectively, while the results will be declared on November 14.
