Senior NCP (SP) leader Sharad Pawar has been diagnosed with a chest infection and is under medical observation.

Pune: NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has been diagnosed with a chest infection after undergoing medical tests following complaints of difficulty in breathing and persistent cough, doctors said on Monday.
A CT scan conducted at Ruby Hall Clinic, a private hospital in Pune where he is admitted, confirmed the infection, chief cardiologist and managing trustee Dr Parvez Grant said.
“A CT scan was performed and there is chest infection. After all the tests, we may admit him for a day,” Dr Grant said.
A team of doctors is monitoring the 85-year-old leader and will decide on further treatment based on his response to medication, he added.
Party sources said Pawar, an oral cancer survivor, has been experiencing throat infection, persistent cough and chest congestion for the past few days.
