Superstar Rajinikanth met DMK president MK Stalin at his residence in Alwarpet on Wednesday, in what sources described as a courtesy visit following the announcement of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election results.

According to those familiar with the meeting, Rajinikanth expressed solidarity with Stalin after the DMK’s electoral setback in the state polls.

The 75-year-old actor has previously spoken positively about Stalin, describing him as one of the leading figures in Indian politics.

The visit comes months after political remarks made by TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna in March, who had alleged that Rajinikanth stayed out of politics due to pressure from the DMK. He further claimed the party had influenced the actor’s decision not to enter electoral politics despite his reported interest in “changing the system”.

Following those comments, Rajinikanth issued a letter on 17 March, strongly rebutting Arjuna’s claims. In it, he wrote cryptically: “Time will not speak, but it waits and gives its answer.”
