Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has completed 100 days in office, marking a key milestone for the TVK government, Assembly Speaker J C D Prabhakar said on Monday, while praising the regime’s initiatives in social welfare, women’s safety, youth skill development and employment generation.

Addressing the Assembly, Prabhakar described the first 100 days of the government as a new phase in Tamil Nadu’s political history and said the initiatives taken by Vijay reflected the government’s commitment to the people.

“The first 100 days in office marks a new change in Tamil Nadu's history,” Prabhakar said, highlighting a series of measures announced by the government.

According to the Speaker, the government’s initiatives include measures focused on women’s safety and social welfare, along with a scheme providing 200 units of free power.

He also pointed to the waiver of cooperative farm loans and the government’s announcement to construct quality homes for poor families as key initiatives during the first 100 days.

Prabhakar further highlighted the government’s focus on skill development for youth and efforts to create employment opportunities in the state.

He said the initiatives demonstrated that the present TVK regime was a “government for the people”.

The Speaker said the completion of 100 days had laid the foundation for the government’s longer-term vision for Tamil Nadu.

“The milestone lays a strong foundation for the future dreams of Tamil Nadu to facilitate a transparent and corrupt-free governance, and transform the state into a prosperous and strong Tamil Nadu,” Prabhakar said.

He also lauded Vijay for what he described as numerous initiatives taken during the government’s first 100 days, particularly in areas concerning social welfare, women and young people.
