Pune schools, colleges and government offices are set to function normally on July 7 despite an IMD rain alert, with authorities monitoring the weather closely.

As heavy monsoon showers continue across Maharashtra, students, parents and office-goers in Pune are waiting to know whether educational institutions and government offices will remain affected on Tuesday, July 7.
According to the latest update from the Pune district administration, no holiday has been declared for schools or colleges in Pune.
District Collector Jitendra Dudi has confirmed that educational institutions in Pune city and nearby areas will function as usual unless fresh instructions are issued due to changing weather conditions.
This means anganwadis, primary schools, secondary schools and higher secondary schools are expected to remain open on Tuesday.
The clarification comes a day after the district administration suspended classes on July 6 following an India Meteorological Department (IMD) Red Alert warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall, with isolated locations likely to receive extremely heavy showers.
While students were given a holiday on Monday, teaching and non-teaching staff were asked to report to work and remain available for any emergency or disaster management duties.
In neighbouring Lonavala, schools had also remained closed on July 6 after the local civic body announced a precautionary holiday. However, no fresh notification has been issued regarding a closure on July 7.
Government offices in Pune are also expected to operate normally as there is no official order announcing a holiday. Employees have been advised to stay updated on weather advisories and exercise caution while travelling.
The IMD has forecast continued rainfall over Pune and surrounding districts in the coming days.
Residents have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy showers, stay away from rivers and waterlogged areas, and follow official weather updates.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, and any decision on fresh closures will depend on how weather conditions evolve.
