New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to embark on a foreign trip around August 29, with likely stops in China and Japan, according to people familiar with the developments. The first leg of the journey would see Modi visiting Japan for annual summit talks with his Japanese counterpart.
Following his Japan visit, Modi is likely to head to China to participate in the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), scheduled from August 31 to September 1. If confirmed, this would mark Modi’s first visit to China since the eastern Ladakh border standoff began.
