The remark came a few days after Gandhi faced criticism from the BJP by agreeing with Trump's statement that the Indian economy is "dead"...

New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unable to stand up to U.S. President Donald Trump due to an ongoing American investigation into the Adani Group, which he said could expose financial links involving Modi, businessman Gautam Adani, and Russian oil deals.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Gandhi wrote, “India, please understand: The reason PM Modi cannot stand up to President Trump despite his repeated threats is the ongoing U.S. investigation into Adani... Modi’s hands are tied.”
The remark came a few days after Gandhi faced criticism from the BJP by agreeing with Trump's statement that the Indian economy is "dead" and said he is "glad" that the US President has stated a fact.
Speaking to reporters, Gandhi said that the whole world knows the Indian economy is "dead" except for the Prime Minister and Finance Minister.
Meanwhile, the members of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) will be meeting over dinner at Rahul Gandhi's residence on August 7, sources said on Sunday.
The announcement of the August 7 meeting comes a day after the former Congress president asserted that at least 70-80 Lok Sabha seats might have been rigged in the 2024 general elections, while addressing the party's conclave on Saturday.
The ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar, alleged voter list manipulation in Maharashtra, Operation Sindoor, India-US trade deal and the tariffs threatened by President Donald Trump are likely to be discussed during the meeting.
